[i]    The commemoration of St Raphael is observed on the 1st Saturday of November.

[ii]  If it is a Saturday, at Orthros chant the Praises of the Annunciation and the Great Doxlogy.  If it is a weekday, there are no Sung Praises.

[iii]   During the season of the Pentecostarion, there are Sung Praises at every Orthros.

[iv]   When this date falls during the Great Fast, the commemoration is transferred to Bright Monday.

[v]   When this date falls during the Great Fast, the commemoration may be transferred to Bright Tuesday; but if the commemoration of St Athanasios or the New-martyrs is observed on Bright Tuesday, the commemoration of St Mark is observed on April 25th with a Presanctified.

[xi]  When the Apostles Fast begins on or after May 18, during Vespers at “Lord, I have cried” we chant Glory/Both now and the theotokion or stavrotheotokion from the appendix of the May Menaion, rather than that from the Pentecostarion.  And during Orthros at the kathisma following the 3rd Ode we chant Glory/Both and the theotokion or stavrotheotokion from the end of the May Menaion rather than that from the Pentecostarion.  Note also during Orthros there are no Sung Praises unless appointed by the Menaion.

[xii]   There is an Entrance at Vespers every evening during the Dormition Fast (August 1-14), and the Supplicatory Canon to the Most Holy Theotokos (Paraklesis) is chanted daily during the Fast (except on Saturday evenings and on the eves of the Transfiguration and Dormition).

[xiii]    On the Holy Mountain the Leavetaking is observed on August 28th.  Since there are no texts in the Menaion specifically appointed for this extended festal period, the festal texts of August 16th are again chanted on the 23rd together with those appointed in the Menaion for the 23rd (Martyr Louppos), those of the 17th on the 24th, those of the 18th on the 25th, etc.  Note that in that case the commemoration of the Martyr Louppos is retained on its authentic date (August 23rd) and the commemoration of Venerable Poemen is transferred from August 28th to the previous day (August 27th).
